John Ivison

John Ivison

John has been working in the Fire Industry for 30-years commencing as a sprinkler draughtsman with Wormalds in 1981.

Since 1981 when all drawings were hand drawn and hydraulic calculations were pre-calculated, John has seen the evolution of computer design and engineering in the fire industry.

John has worked with Wormalds, Panelect Manufacturing, Commercial Fire and Fire and Rescue NSW.

As a professional fire-fighter John has seen firsthand the positive outcomes of correctly installed fire safety measures. He has also witnessed time and time again, how people react when exposed to fire and smoke.

While people may not value fire safety measures on a day to day basis they EXPECT that those measures will operate as designed when they are involved in an emergency.

John formed Civil Fire as a sole trading entity in 1998 and it has since evolved into a Company employing over 30 people.

John has been a Graduate member of the Institute of Fire Engineers since 1993 and has completed a Graduate Diploma in Fire Safety Engineering from the University of Western Sydney.
